Brandon likes helping mission-driven organizations achieve success by developing new communications strategies.
As a communications professional, Brandon works with organizations to manage crisis situations and help organizations find their key audiences so they can tell the stories that create change. A former journalist, he has years of experience working at complex nonprofits and has a passion for social and economic justice.
His career includes serving as the National Director of Communications and Public Policy for Actors’ Equity Association, where he led the #NotALabRat campaign, which culminated in a successful 33-day strike.
Brandon has 20 years of journalism and campaign experience that includes placing millions of dollars in earned media that has won campaigns. His work includes the campaigns of three U.S. Senators and on campaigns and issues in nearly two dozen states. He began his work in politics working for former Gov. Jim Doyle (D-WI) and since then has led successful communications efforts for Democrats in red and blue states, and both general and primary elections.
Before joining Actors’ Equity Association, Lorenz served as communications campaign director for the Human Rights Campaign, which included HRC’s work to defeat former North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory and HB2.
Lorenz began his career working in journalism in his home state of Wisconsin. He now lives in New York with his partner, where they spend their time enjoying the city’s world-class theatre and restaurant scene.
